Not a very exciting day. After class, Gabe and I head down to the Postbank to try to open our accounts again, because we forgot our passports the first time. Being naturally retarded, I forget my passport again. We meet up with Matt and work on our homework some more. So that I can run back to get my passport, we split up the work a bit; I research the 'Flora' while Gabe and Matt research the 'Zeughaus'. To oversummarize, the Flora is a botanical garden that lies one stop from the Hostel and the Zeughaus is a history museum on Komodienstrasse. After I get my passport to the Postbank, we three meet up again and start on our next task: locate a specialty book store in the near of campus and find a textbook from your major therein. On our way to the book stores, we take a little pause.

After a 10 minute walk in the rain, we finally find a book store, but they don't appear to sell textbooks, and they have virtually nothing on engineering in general. However, a few employees are nice enough to help us with a few other tasks; specifically, what is 'Himmel und Erd'? Translated as 'Heaven and Earth', this is a food item composed of potatoes, applesauce and bloodwurst; sounds great. We take a dinner break in the restaraunt across the street; great beer, meatloaf, and twice baked potatoes. Once it gets dark and everything start to shut down, we call it a night.
Back at the Hostel, we meet up with the Murray and Rob in the Hostel bar to play a little Eucher. Beer prices, are like everywhere else in Koeln: about 1.20 Euros for a third liter.
Rob has a tendency to start up conversations once we are all in bed; this usually cuts into our sleepy time for about an hour or so. Murray, not able to sleep, turns on his light and decides to read for a while. Not five seconds after Rob finishes talking about some random topic, most likely business related, he complains to Murray about how his light is keeping him awake. Murray leaves for a smoke and comes back visibly peeved. Fun stuff.
